Polygiene, world-leading provider of odor control for textiles, has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Sweden-based material science company Prebona. The agreement extends initially over a period of three years and gives Polygiene access to Prebona’s patented OdorControl technology.

“For Polygiene, it is of strategic importance to offer different types of odor control technologies. Our collaboration with Prebona enables Polygiene to expand our product portfolio and present a stronger customer offering to both new and existing customers,” says Ulrika Björk, CEO, Polygiene AB. “We have been evaluated Prebona’s product for some time, and we are very pleased that they chose Polygiene as a partner. We are looking forward to launching the new product this fall.”

“The agreement provides Prebona OdorControl with a strong position in the global textile market due to Polygiene’s relationship with leading brands,” says Orvar Otterstedt, CEO, Prebona AB. “At the same time, we are pleased to partner with a highly competent and innovative company like Polygiene in a segment that, I believe, holds vast potential for our company’s products.”

Prebona’s technology encapsulates and breaks down odor caused by bacteria on a garment. Polygiene has to date focused on preventing odor by stopping the growth of bacteria on the fabric. Both technologies complement each other; the agreement broadens Polygiene’s product offering and increases the company’s market opportunities.
